I had perhaps an unusual arrangement with Ramesh, with me planning for a solo trek of the ABC area (without guide or porter). Instead of using his talents on the ground in Nepal, I interacted with Ramesh only online during my months-long preparation for my trip. Ramesh guided me in this way to plan my route, determine my packing list, and clarify my expectations about everything from the coffee situation at the tea houses to which temples are open for visitors to meditate. For every question I had, Ramesh had a prompt, clear and accurate answer. We worked off Google Docs and Sheets, and it all made for a very effective and organized workflow. When I finally did embark on my trip, I felt confident and knowledgeable about what I was getting into, and in fact I did complete my solo 2-week, 85-mile trek without problem. On of the highlights of the trip was on my last evening in Nepal at the Kathmandu airport. I was finally able to meet with Ramesh for dinner, and found him to be an exceptional human being — so enthusiastic about the work he does, appreciating it way beyond it just being a “job”. Instead he has an obvious love for the mountains and for sharing them and his knowledge of them with his clients. I couldn’t imagine a better person to work with as a guide, whether virtually or in person on the trail. Thanks again, Ramesh, for all your guidance. There’s no way I could have done it, and so successfully without you.

Highly recommend! We (a group of eight) had an incredible six-day trek along the Langtang Valley, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Ramesh was very organised, always quick to respond to all our messages, and made sure everything was planned smoothly from start to finish. During the trek, Ramesh was a fantastic companion - he was full of knowledge about the local area, the trails, and the culture - and his cheeky sense of humor made every step more enjoyable. It didn’t take long to feel like we were in safe hands, as he looked after every aspect of the journey and kept a close eye on the group’s wellbeing. Amazingly, Ramesh also managed to have phone signal everywhere (I don’t know how) - a reassuring aspect in remote areas! If you’re looking for a guide who knows the region inside out and can keep spirits high with a smile, Ramesh is your man. I hope to go trekking with him again.

I booked my 3 passes trek to EBC with Ramesh using Honey Guides. What can I say, he is fantastic. Ramesh genuinely cares for you and I felt like a friend at the end of the trip rather than a client. He is clearly very well known in the region, stopping to say hello to people he knows and we definitely got the best rooms in the lodges. Best of all the trip worked out much cheaper than going through an agency. We saw some really poor guides who spent no time with their clients in the evenings and wouldn't change plans whereas Ramesh was open to plan changes as the trip progressed to meet our needs and wishes and is very good company with excellent English and a great sense of humour.
