Welcome to Hairy Yak Adventures. By booking a trek or using our digital platforms, you enter into a binding legal agreement with us. Our services are provided subject to your acceptance of these terms. We specialize in high-altitude logistics, and as such, all participants must acknowledge the inherent risks of trekking in Nepal.
Travelers are responsible for providing valid medical clearances and possessing a valid passport with at least six months of validity. It is a mandatory requirement for all clients to have comprehensive travel insurance that includes high-altitude helicopter rescue and medical coverage. Hairy Yak Adventures acts as an intermediary for various services including airlines, hotels, and transportation providers; while we vet all partners, we are not liable for their independent failures.
We reserve the right to alter itineraries without prior notice if we deem it necessary for the safety of the group. This includes changes necessitated by weather, landslides, or directives from the Nepal Tourism Board. Failure to follow the instructions of our certified guides may lead to immediate termination of your trek without a refund.

All intellectual property on this website, including but not limited to the "Hairy Yak Adventures" logo, custom-designed trekking itineraries, blog content, and high-definition Himalayan media, is the protected property of Hairy Yak Adventures.
We invest heavily in documenting the "Real Nepal." We encourage sharing our mission, but the commercial reproduction, redistribution, or modification of our digital assets is strictly prohibited without explicit written consent. This includes the use of our specialized route descriptions for commercial gain by other agencies. We respect the cultural heritage of the communities we visit and often feature UNESCO World Heritage Sites; we ask our guests to respect copyright laws regarding local artistry and religious artifacts during their journeys.

Payment and Payout Policy
Securing a spot on a Himalayan expedition requires significant upfront logistical planning. To confirm your booking for Treks in Nepal or any other package, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit allows us to secure domestic flights and trekking permits which are often in high demand.
The remaining balance must be cleared at least 30 days before the trip departure date. We accept payments via international bank transfer, secure credit card gateways, and authorized travel partner portals. For our international B2B travel agents and Non-Residential Nepali partners, payout schedules for commissions or ground-handling fees are processed within 15 business days following the successful completion of the client's journey.
Hairy Yak Adventures is committed to the local economy. A transparent portion of every payment is directly allocated to the fair wages of our guides and porters, as well as contributions to local lodge owners in the high-altitude regions we serve.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
At Hairy Yak Adventures, we understand that life is unpredictable. However, because our costs are committed to local partners well in advance, we maintain a strict cancellation schedule. All cancellations must be received via email.
- 30+ Days Before Departure: Refund of the total amount paid, minus the initial non-refundable deposit and any bank transaction fees.
- 15-29 Days Before Departure: 50% refund of the total trip cost.
- Less than 15 Days Before Departure: No refund can be issued, as all logistics, flights, and staff have been finalized and paid.
If a trek is cut short by the client for any reason (personal choice, illness, or lack of fitness), Hairy Yak Adventures cannot provide a refund for unused days or services. We strongly recommend "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) insurance to mitigate these risks. In the rare event that Hairy Yak Adventures cancels your trek due to our own internal reasons, a 100% refund or a lifetime credit for a future Nepal tour package will be issued immediately.
For cancellations caused by "Force Majeure" events (natural disasters, pandemics, or government travel bans), we offer a "Flexible Credit" policy allowing you to reschedule your adventure within a 24-month window at no additional administrative cost.
